The recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts Grants and a Guggenheim Fellowship, his photographs are included in permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, J Paul Getty Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, George Eastman House, and Smithsonian.
