The wide inverted bowl at horizon
My head spinning before the vortex of it all
Those incessant approaching watery funnels
Their siren cries against sloping sands
Your loveliest of faces
Your golden hair swirling amongst tide pools
Your slender arms and legs against fathomless currents
Your eyes dazzling from the holy phosphorescence
Once more at the water’s edge
Here since shortly after that beginning
The deep abyss abiding
With promises made
More than expected kept
Sailboats skim a burnished mirror
Wave riders slide down unfurling miens of silver
Greased creatures beached supine and shimmering
Dusk walkers riven silent at tideline
All wait the transmuting colors
Under gathering cumuli
In anticipation of that final descent
We who cry out to our maker
We who don’t believe
The same we who sense there is something
Spoken in that instant we glimpse the green light
Our light life roiling down the backside of time
