In 1974 I was doing a project on rodeos.  Here, with a press pass, I am being chased 
by a bull at the Grand Nationals in the Cow Palace in San Francisco.  As you can see, 
the bull has me very much in his sights, and in fact did run me down, but fortunately 
I was not gored and sustained only a minor bruise from a hoof coming down on my 
calf.  I had made the mistake of taking my eye off the bull after a rider had been thrown.  
Fortunately, a rodeo clown grabbed me up before the bull could make a second pass.  
Steve Fitch, who was watching from the arena fence, caught the precise moment of
eye contact...
